Having explored more than a hundred trails in Corsica, I have selected five hikes to wonderful lakes for you. Each route showcases the wonders of the 'Isle of Beauty', from vertiginous peaks and authentic villages to coves with turquoise waters.

1. Lakes of Melo and Capitello
Region : Central
Difficulty : Moderate
This hike, located in the famous upper valley of the Restonica, is one of the most popular in Corsica. The splendid lakes of Melo and Capitello, surrounded by impressive peaks and cliffs, are of glacial origin and remain frozen for 6 months of the year.
2. Lac de Nino
Region : Central
Difficulty : Moderate
Lake Nino, surrounded by numerous pozzines where cows and horses live in freedom, is one of Corsica's natural treasures. Located on the Camputile plateau, it is the source of the Tavignanu, the island's second longest river.
3. Lac de l'Oriente
Region : Central
Difficulty : Hard
The Lac de l'Oriente, located at the foot of the Rotondo massif, is one of the most beautiful lakes on the island. However, during this hike, you will come across very few people, allowing you to enjoy the peaceful and magnificent setting of the lake and its pozzines in complete tranquility.
4. Lac de Bastani / Monte Renoso

Difficulty : Moderate
From the Capannelle-Ghisoni ski resort, you can quickly reach the magnificent Lake Bastani, bordered by the cliffs of Monte Renoso. You are then invited to continue to the summit of the latter, which offers breathtaking views and is one of the most accessible peaks over 2000 meters in Corsica.
5. Lakes Rinoso
Region : Central
Difficulty : Moderate
The small and large lakes of Rinoso, located in the upper valley of the Restonica, are much less frequented than their neighbors, the lakes of Melo and Capitello. However, they also offer a remarkable attraction and are a true haven of peace in the heart of a mineral environment.
