Castle Sinclair

The Castle Sinclair Walk leads to one of Scotland's most spectacular ruined castles. Perched majestically on a rocky promontory on the east coast of Caithness, the castle is a sight to behold. Considered the first seat of the Sinclair clan, this historic site contains the remains of two castles: Girnigoe Castle, dating from the 15th century, and Sinclair Castle, built in the 17th century.

This accessible, short route combines a cultural visit with a coastal walk. A detour to the Noss Head Lighthouse reveals magnificent, panoramic views of the bay.
