Beinn a’ Bheithir

Immerse yourself in the majesty of Beinn a' Bheithir (Gaelic for “Mountain of the Beast” or “Mountain of Lightning”). Located to the south of the village of Ballachulish and Loch Leven, this mountain is home to two Munros (peaks over 3,000 feet or around 914 meters): Sgorr Dhearg (1024 m) and Sgorr Dhonuill (1001 m). The long ridge walk is a fantastic experience and the panoramas are breathtaking.

However, don't underestimate the difficulty of this hike. The steep gradient requires a high level of fitness. There is also a technical section requiring some scrambling before you reach Sgorr Bhan. The trail is well visible throughout, although it is very boggy on the descent. The last two kilometers on the road are boring after exploring these majestic peaks, but they do not detract from the splendor of this great adventure.
