Snækollur
Snækollur, at an altitude of 1488 metres, is the highest point of the Kerlingarfjöll volcano and mountain range. From the summit and all along the ridge, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramas, with unobstructed views of the horizon for dozens of kilometers around.
The hike follows a well-marked trail. The first part is very steep until you reach the ridge, so the use of hiking poles is strongly recommended. Before setting off, be sure to check snow conditions. On average, the trail is passable from mid-July to mid-September.
