Hafragilsfoss  West

The Hafragilsfoss waterfalls, located a few kilometers downstream of the famous Dettifoss waterfalls, are also part of the Jokulsa a Fjollum glacial river. Falling 27 metres into the Jokulsargljufur canyon, Iceland's largest canyon, they offer an impressive spectacle. Despite their proximity to the touristy Dettifoss Falls, few visitors come here. And wrongly so, for although it's not possible to get very close to the Hafragilsfoss waterfalls, the view over the Jokulsargljufur canyon is spectacular.
