Seljalandsfoss waterfall
Seljalandsfoss is a majestic 60-metre-high waterfall on Iceland's south coast, right next to the famous Golden Circle. It is one of the most popular waterfalls in the country and is fed by the Seljalandsá river, which flows from under the Eyjafjallajökull glacier.
One of the special things about Seljalandsfoss is that you can see it from any angle. The cliffs behind the waterfall house a vast cavity, and a path leads around the entire waterfall. From this cave, the streams of water take on their most beautiful colours at sunset, creating a breathtaking spectacle.
Around 500 metres on foot from Seljalandsfoss is Gljúfrabúi Falls, another natural wonder to discover. Here, the water falls directly into a cavity, creating a unique spectacle and guaranteed spray!
