Haifoss waterfall
Háifoss, literally “high waterfall” in Icelandic, is the third highest and one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland. Located in the Þjórsárdalur valley, close to the famous Golden Ring and the most popular attractions, this natural wonder remains little-visited. Yet it rivals, if not surpasses in beauty, anything you'll see along the Golden Ring, and offers the opportunity for exploration without the crowds.
From its height of 122 metres, the Háifoss waterfall plunges gracefully into the canyon, alongside its neighbor Granni, offering a breathtaking spectacle. It's also possible to take a short hike to discover the canyon and admire the waterfalls from below. Allow between an hour and an hour and a half to cover the 4 kilometers and 200 meters of ascent.
