Gullfoss Waterfall
Discover the majestic Gullfoss waterfall, one of Iceland's most popular attractions. Located on the Hvítá river, this impressive waterfall, whose name translates as ‘golden falls’, refers to the rainbow that forms above it when the sun shines.
Gullfoss consists of two successive cascades: the first is 11 metres high, while the second reaches 21 metres, before plunging into a narrow gorge. With an impressive flow of around 140 m³/s in summer, the deafening roar of the water echoes throughout the canyon, creating a breathtaking atmosphere.
