Ben More Coigach

Welcome to the Highlands of northwest Scotland, where the majestic summit of Ben More Coigach rises abruptly from Loch Broom, 743 meters above sea level. Its coastal location, combined with its strong prominence, offers a spectacular panorama, stretching from Ullapool to the Summer Isles and northwards from Coigach to the striking peaks of the magnificent Assynt region. This horseshoe shaped hike takes you to three peaks linked by a ridge where the panoramas are nothing short of extraordinary, making this one of the most beautiful walks in Scotland. An experience not to be missed!

However, the route is demanding, with trails that are sometimes difficult to see or even non-existent. It is essential to be equipped with a GPS or a good sense of direction to navigate safely through the wild landscapes of this magnificent part of Scotland. The slopes to reach the first summit, Garbh Choireachan, are very steep and the ridge is jagged in places. The descent across the moorland, on the other hand, is not difficult.
