Lievarden Hike

Take a hike up Lievarden (799 m), an easily accessible trail located in Stranda, Møre og Romsdal County, Norway. This relatively short trail offers exceptional views of the Norwegian fjords, including the Sunnylvsfjord and the Storfjord, as well as the majestic Sunnmøre Alps. It is an ideal option for families or hikers looking for a grand natural spectacle with moderate effort.

Remarks

Access & Parking: The starting point is accessible via a well-maintained gravel road suitable for all types of vehicles for the last four kilometers. Please allow for a parking fee of NOK 40 (2025 rate).

Difficulties and description of the hike

The trail is easy, accessible to all levels, and features a steady climb with moderate elevation gain. Starting in a pine forest, it crosses a birch grove before opening up to wide, unobstructed views.

Start: about 200 meters from the parking area, continue along the track and look for the start of the trail on your right.
Marking: the route is not marked, but it is clearly signposted by directional signs at strategic points.
