At 165 metres high, Mount Aksla towers above Ålesund and offers hikers the chance to take in the full beauty of the city's iconic panorama and its islands. The route starts in the heart of Ålesund, in the municipal park (Byparken), where the historic 418 steps begin.

This short climb offers unmissable views of Ålesund's Art Nouveau architecture, the surrounding archipelago and the majestic Sunnmøre Alps on the horizon.

Difficulties of the hike

The route begins in the municipal park (Byparken) and takes you up a staircase of 418 stone steps. Although the trail is steep in places, it is secured with handrails and is suitable for all hikers, including children.
