Difficulties of the hike

The only real difficulty is the elevation gain. The slope is steep and relentless but never technical. The terrain is rugged, but there are no exposed sections.

You won't have any trouble finding your way because the path is clearly visible throughout the hike. In June, there may be some tricky snowfield crossings, but they usually disappear in July.

What you'll love

  • The exceptional panorama from the summit: breathtaking views of the Haukland and Utakleiv beaches, the isolated peaks of western Vestvågøya, and the mountain ranges of northern Flakstadøya and Moskenesøya.
  • The sense of accomplishment from climbing the highest point on Vestvågøya Island.
  • The option to combine this hike with the ascent of nearby Mannen for the more motivated.
