Brunakseltinden

This easy and fairly popular hike starts at Vinstad (accessible by boat from Reine).

The trail is clearly visible all the way to the summit, and there are no technical difficulties. You'll enjoy magnificent views of the Bunesfjorden and Kjerkfjorden fjords and the impressive peaks of this part of the island.

More details on the hike

Take the boat from Reine to Vindstad. On arrival, follow the track northwest towards Bunes beach for 1.8 kilometers. Then take the path on the left towards the Einangen/Bunes/Helvetestinden pass. If you wish, you can take a short detour to Bunes beach.

From the Einangen pass (75 m), head east towards the pass between Helvetestinden and Kammen. The trail is clearly visible and you're unlikely to be alone. After about an hour's climb, you'll discover the beautiful Kjerfjorden fjord on the other side of the pass. Follow the Brunakseltinden ridge to the summit. Enjoy the breathtaking panorama, with turquoise fjords on both sides and the majestic peaks of this part of the island.

For the return trip, simply follow the same route.
