Volandstinden

An easy hike suitable for the whole family, with a good trail from start to finish (which is quite rare in Lofoten) and exceptional views. Along the way, you can admire the Skjelfjorden fjord and the highest peaks on the island of Flakstadøya. From the summit of Volandstinden, you can also marvel at the impressive peaks of northern Moskenesøya, the turquoise fjords and Ramberg Bay.

More details on the hike

If you're coming from the north, look for the trailhead 900 meters after leaving the E10 towards Nesland. Parking is available on the right, next to an orange house. The trail is clearly visible all the way. Although the trail climbs steadily, the gradients are relatively gentle by Lofoten standards. The first part can be quite wet, so waterproof footwear is recommended. After 200 meters of ascent, you'll come to a large cairn that marks the intersection with other hiking trails, especially Blåfjellkammen. At this point, you're almost halfway along the trail! For the second part, head north and you'll easily reach the summit of Volandstinden. Take time to admire the magnificent views all around!

To return, simply follow the same route.
