Nonstinden
It's a beautiful, easy and relatively uncrowded hike that takes you to the discovery of Unstad Bay. At the top, you'll be rewarded with a view of Steinfjorden and the lovely Utakleiv beach.
There are no difficulties along the way, except for a short passage through a scree. The path is clearly visible all the way.
More details on the hike
The hike starts from the parking lot at Unstad beach, at the end of the road (NOK 50 for cars in 2021). You'll have no trouble finding your way around, as the trail is clearly visible all the way to the summit. First, you'll head towards the lake of Utdalsvatnet (77 m). The slope then become slightly steeper, and you cross a scree area before reaching the Nonstinden ridge. Follow the ridge to the top.
From the summit, you'll enjoy a magnificent view to the south, with the beaches and breathtaking colors of the Steinfjorden fjord. To the southwest, you'll see Utakleiv bay and Vestvågøya's highest peak, Himmeltindan (962 m). If you wish, you can continue along the ridge to the summit of Horgtinden.
Take the same route back.
