Nonstinden

The hike up Nonstinden (483 m) takes you to the magnificent Unstad Bay in the heart of the Lofoten on Vestvågøya Island. This easy, relatively uncrowded hike offers spectacular views of Steinfjorden, Utakleiv Beach, and the surrounding peaks.

The charm of this climb lies in its easy access and proximity to the famous Unstad Beach, a renowned surfing spot in the Arctic.

Parking: Parking is paid in Unstad (NOK 50 for cars in 2021). The lot is located at the end of the road near the beach.

Difficulties and description of the hike

The route presents no significant technical difficulties except for a short section of scree before reaching the summit ridge. The route is well defined and remains clearly visible all the way to the summit, limiting the risk of getting lost.
