Hike overview

The Bucatoggio Waterfall hike is an easy, short walk ideal for the whole family. It takes you to the heart of the lush, green Costa Verde region of Corsica. First, the route takes you to the magnificent 17th-century Genoese bridge of Bucatoggio with its single arch. Then, you will reach the waterfall that cascades into a superb natural pool with crystal-clear waters.

Nestled among holm oaks, chestnut trees, and ferns, the emerald pool is perfect for swimming and offers a refreshing oasis, particularly in the summer.

Remarks

Possible extension: This hike can be extended with an eight-kilometer loop (about three hours), which leads to the Ucelluline Waterfall and the village of Santa Maria Poggio. The trails are clearly marked, and an information panel is located at the trailhead.

Difficulties of the hike

This hike does not present any particular difficulties. The mostly shaded trail is clearly marked, with only 50 meters of elevation gain for a round trip of about two kilometers.
