Coscione plateau

Discover the plateau of Coscione, a very special place in the Corsican mountains. Unlike the usual hiking trails, which are often arid and rocky, this excursion through the Coscione plateau plunges you into a lush landscape, dotted with streams and relatively flat. Horses, cows and pigs roam freely in this unspoiled environment.

The road leading to the plateau, at an altitude of 1,500 meters, is bumpy and full of potholes over a distance of around ten kilometers. A conventional car, without 4WD, can still manage it. At the end of the road, you'll reach an old refuge, the starting point for several trails that explore this wild and unspoiled plateau. The trails are all in excellent condition, with the occasional signpost. On the other hand, they are unmarked and there are many intersections, so a GPS device could be useful to avoid getting lost. The itinerary suggested here is the widest loop and allows a complete discovery of this enchanting place.
