Purcaraccia Waterfalls

ATTENTION: Following several fatal accidents, the trail has been closed to the public since 2021, between mid-June to mid-September. Reopening after renovation.

Discover a not-to-be-missed hike in southern Corsica, in the Aiguilles de Bavella massif. The erosion caused by the Purcaraccia stream has sculpted magnificent natural pools connected by waterfalls and slides. All this in an exceptional setting: a deep gorge bordered by impressive walls and numerous needles. The only drawback, given its popularity, is the large number of hikers. Don't hesitate to go further upstream or to come early in the morning for a bit of peace and quiet.

The trail is of good quality, partly shaded, and although unmarked, cairns mark the way. Expect slightly technical rocky passages and some exposed sections.
