Capo Rosso

Discover this hike to Capo Rosso (Red cap), the westernmost point of the island. Even the drive from Piana to the trailhead is a magnificent sight! At the top of the promontory stands the Genoese tower of Turghiu, from which your efforts will be rewarded with grandiose views over the gulfs of Porto and Sagone, the Calanques of Piana and the highest Corsican massifs to the east.

The trail is excellent, perfectly laid out and well marked. Apart from a steep couloir towards the summit, there are no particular difficulties. However, expect to find very little shade along the way. For a touch of variety, consider returning via the coastal path, which is an equally pleasant alternative.
